{"id":11722,"date":"2022-04-14T18:34:38","date_gmt":"2022-04-14T22:34:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/experiencias-de-aseguramiento-de-calidad-en-educacion-superior-quebec-chile\/"},"modified":"2022-05-02T10:16:06","modified_gmt":"2022-05-02T14:16:06","slug":"experiences-in-quality-assurance-in-higher-education-quebec-chile","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/en\/experiences-in-quality-assurance-in-higher-education-quebec-chile\/","title":{"rendered":"Experiences in Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Quebec and Chile"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=&#8221;\u00abQuality Assurance Experiences in Higher Education in Quebec and Chile\u00bb Project &#8221; font_container=&#8221;tag:h1|text_align:left&#8221; use_theme_fonts=&#8221;yes&#8221;][vc_column_text]The project \u00abQuality Assurance Experiences in Higher Education in Quebec and Chile\u00bb is supported by the Minist\u00e8re des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie du Qu\u00e9bec (MRIF) and seeks to deepen the knowledge and Exchange of experiences between Quebec and Chile concerning quality assurance in higher education.<\/p>\n<p>The main objective of this project is to share experiences and good practices on the quality assurance systems in higher education in both countries.<\/p>\n<p>The specific aims are: <strong>(1)<\/strong> To know the functioning of the quality assurance systems implemented in higher education institutions (HEIs) in Quebec and Chile; <strong>(2)<\/strong> to identify successful experiences and good practices in the implementation of those systems; and <strong>(3)<\/strong> to recognize the factors of success of such experiences that could serve as a benchmark for the development of institutional and\/or sectorial policies in this field.<\/p>\n<p>This project will facilitate the two countries to create an <strong>Academic Forum on higher education quality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The project is led by the following organizations in Quebec and Chile:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/en\/40-years-of-cooperation-in-higher-education\/eng\/\">Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE)<\/a><\/strong>, the main association of higher education institutions in the Americas. He holds a degree in law degree from the <em>Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile<\/em>, a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Sociology of Organizations from Boston University.<\/p>\n<p>His general area of research is the sociology of higher education, and specifically, the study of the university as an organization, the management of universities, and the development of the academic profession, all this from a comparative international perspective.<\/p>\n<p>He has been an Associate Researcher at the Harvard University School of Education, and has held important positions as Academic Vice-Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor for Research and Postgraduate Studies at the <em>Universidad Andr\u00e9s Bello<\/em>; and Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences at the <em>Universidad de Talca<\/em>. At the <em>Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile<\/em> he was Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education, Director of the <em>Centro de Estudios en Pol\u00edticas y Pr\u00e1cticas en Educaci\u00f3n<\/em> (Center for Studies in Educational Policies and Practices) (CEPPE), and Director of the <em>Centro de Estudios Avanzados sobre Justicia Educacional<\/em> (Center for Advanced Studies on Educational Justice) (CJE).<\/p>\n<p>He has been a consultant on higher education policy and management in a dozen countries in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, for the IDB, UNESCO, the World Bank, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the European Commission.<\/p>\n<p>He was a member of the Advisory Group for the development of the new Quality Criteria and Standards and has served as a peer evaluator for the CNA. He has been a member of self-evaluation committees for institutional accreditation in the institutions in which he has served. As a researcher, he has published numerous mainstream papers and books on Marine Ecology, Aquaculture, and Higher Education, mainly in the fields of academic organization and management and quality assurance of universities. He has also developed projects supported by national and international agencies.<\/p>\n<p>He has held the positions of first Rector of the <em>Universidad de Los Lagos<\/em>, Vice-Chancellor of Planning and Development of the <em>Universidad de Los Lagos<\/em>, Vice-Chancellor of Research and Postgraduate Studies at the <em>Universidad de Playa Ancha<\/em> and the <em>Universidad Tecnol\u00f3gica Metropolitana.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He has also been a Consultant to national and Latin American universities and public and private organizations in Chile in the sphere of higher education. She is a full professor of Pharmacotherapy at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, Canada. She was Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Quality Promotion at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al for 8 years where she pioneered a systematic approach to program evaluation and created the Office for Quality Promotion. She currently chairs the Evaluation Commission of CIDPHARMEF (Conf\u00e9rence internationale des doyens des facult\u00e9s de pharmacie d&#8217;expression fran\u00e7aise), a network of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF). Between her projects, she is interested in the methods and impact of evaluating program quality.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout her career, she has been Vice Dean of Studies and has participated in the development, revision or implementation of various curricula in the area of \u200b\u200bpharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.<\/p>\n<p>She has received numerous awards for teaching excellence. With more than 25 years of experience in higher education, he has held the positions of Director General in the C\u00e9gep(*) of Rosemont, Deputy Director of Programs and Didactic Resources and Director of Studies and International Affairs at the C\u00e9gep de Trois-Rivi\u00e8res. He worked at the C\u00e9gep de Beauce-Appalaches as a teacher and then as director of studies. He has also worked as project manager for the Ministry of Education and has held management positions at the \u00c9cole nationale d&#8217;administration publique (ENAP) and the Center universitaire des Appalaches.He has a master&#8217;s degree from the \u00c9cole nationale d&#8217;administration publique and a bachelor&#8217;s degree in French literature from the Laval University.<\/p>\n<p>(*) C\u00c9GEP is the acronym for College of General and Professional Education (Coll\u00e8ge d&#8217;enseignement g\u00e9n\u00e9ral et professionnel), which corresponds to a public educational establishment where the first level of higher education is offered. S<\/em>he also holds a Master&#8217;s Degree in Management and Public Policy from the\u00a0<em>Universidad de Chile\u00a0<\/em>and a diploma from the\u00a0<em>Programa Latinoamericano de Gerencia P\u00fablica<\/em>\u00a0(Latin American Program in Public Management) from the same institution.<\/p>\n<p>She has developed an extensive career in the higher education area.
