The Inter-American Award for Educational Innovation in Higher Education <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Online – October 5 – 7, 2026<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) and the Universidad Abierta Para Adultos (UAPA) announce the 6<\/span>th<\/span> edition of the <\/span>Inter-American Prize for Models of Educational Innovation in Higher Education <\/i><\/b>(<\/span>MEIN Award 2026<\/i><\/b>)\u00a0 through the presentation of case studies that documenting innovative practices in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).<\/span><\/p>\n

The 6<\/span>th<\/span> edition of the MEIN Award will be held virtually, from October 5 – 7, under the theme of <\/span>“Data analytics for decision-making in higher education\u201d<\/b>[\/vc_column_text][vc_tta_accordion style=”flat” shape=”square” color=”iohe-orange” gap=”35″ c_icon=”chevron” c_position=”right” active_section=”9999″ no_fill=”true” collapsible_all=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”1. COMPETITION GUIDELINES” tab_id=”1711635179496-b6cba110-615e”][vc_column_text css=””]1.1 The competition is open to all Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) members*<\/b>, <\/span>and are up to date with their statutory obligations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1.2 The call will be carried out in two stages: the submission of abstracts (Stage 1), after which a shortlist of experiences or case studies will be selected. The selected authors will be invited to submit their full paper and present it to the international jury (Stage 2).<\/span><\/p>\n

1.3 Abstracts and full proposal can be submitted in one of the four official IOHE languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese or English.<\/span><\/p>\n

1.4 The Jury will award the three best proposals.<\/span><\/p>\n

1.5 An electronic publication will be produced containing all the full papers submitted.<\/span><\/p>\n

1.6 Participation in the 6<\/span>th<\/span> Edition of the MEIN Award does not entail any registration fees for the participating HEIs.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.1 Institutional analytics for strategic planning and quality assurance<\/b><\/p>\n

Experiences or case studies that document the use of academic, administrative, and financial data to support institutional decisions related to strategic planning, quality assurance, accreditation, continuous improvement, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.2 Predictive models for student trajectory management<\/b><\/p>\n

Experiences or case studies on the implementation of analytical or predictive models used to support decisions related to admission, retention, academic progression, timely graduation, student support, or other related topics.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.3 Governance, visualization, and ethical use of data for decision-making<\/b><\/p>\n

Case studies that address institutional experiences in data governance, design and use of dashboards for university authorities, as well as practices oriented towards the ethical, responsible and transparent use of data analytics.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”3.
