tab_id=&#8221;criteria-membership&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Membership Categories<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>There are two categories of\u00a0IOHE\u00a0members:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Regular Members<\/strong>: Universities, research centers and institutions of higher education of the Americas, recognized by the respective laws of their countries, where such an association exists, that offer a minimum of three formal academics programs, and have produced at least two generations of graduates. Regular members have the right to participate and vote in the General Assembly, as well as hold seats in governing bodies of the Organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Associate Members<\/strong>: National, regional, and international associations, federations, other analog higher education organizations, governmental, public, and private entities, among others, which are legally recognized and comply with the requirements of the IOHE Statutes. Associate members may participate in the General Assembly but are unable to vote or hold seats in governing bodies of the Organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In both cases, the members shall be represented by their legal delegates.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\">Membership procedure<\/h4>\n<p>To become a member of the Organization, the applicant is required to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Submit a written request to the Secretariat of the Organization (<a href=\"mailto:sec.general@oui-iohe.org\">general@oui-iohe.org<\/a>);<\/li>\n<li>Show proof that it is legally constituted according to the laws of its country by providing substantiating documentation;<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate that its norms are consonant with the Organization\u2019s Statutes and Charter;<\/li>\n<li>Develop at least three formal academic programs at a higher education level equivalent to those recognized by UNESCO as tertiary education;<\/li>\n<li>Have in place institutional development plans and procedures for self-assessment and external evaluation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">2026\u00a0 Costs<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Regular Members<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Less than 5,000 students: US$ 1380<\/li>\n<li>Between 5,000 and 9,999 students: US$ 1865<\/li>\n<li>Between 10,000 and 19,999 students: US$ 2195<\/li>\n<li>20,000 and more students: US$ 2650<\/li>\n<li>Research Centers: US$ 820<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Associate Members<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Associations, federations and other regional, national or international higher education organizations on regional: Exempt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Integration fee for new members: US$ 550<\/p>\n<p>Members are obliged to pay their membership fees annually.<\/p>\n<p>Fees must be paid in US dollars to the Executive Secretariat of the IOHE, which is situated in Quebec, Canada. Exceptions to this rule can only be made by a special decision of the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the annual membership fee will increase by 3% per year in accordance with the resolution approved during the XXXVII General Assembly of IOHE members held on October 10, 2017, in Montreal, Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Only members who have paid their annual fees may participate in programs and activities organized by the IOHE.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>*The GS reserves the right to increase the amount of the annual membership fee for institutions that are subject to a national tax in order to guarantee that the amount received corresponds to the actual cost of the membership fee.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Application&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;application&#8221;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Please download the membership form that corresponds to your type of organization.
