The mission also includes engagement with various actors within the U.S. innovation ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>(*) The list of IOHE members in the U.S.and LATAM is available here:<a href=\"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/en\/members-oui\/\"> https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/en\/members-oui\/<\/a>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>2. <\/strong><strong>Specific Objectives of the Mission<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote connections between researchers and institutions with shared research interests.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities for scientific collaboration and the development of joint projects.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the exchange of best practices in research internationalization.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen institutional capacities for international scientific cooperation.<\/li>\n<li>Share funding opportunities for collaborative research projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>3. <\/strong><strong>Research Priorities<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]Exploring partnerships will focus on the following research priorities:<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Systems Resilience and Security<\/li>\n<li>Artificial Intelligence (AI)<\/li>\n<li>One Health<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable Energy Future<\/li>\n<li>Rural and Urban Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>4. <\/strong><strong>Participant Profile<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]This call is aimed at IOHE-OUI member higher education institutions interested in strengthening bilateral research relations between the U.S. and Latin America. Participation is expected from researchers and administrators involved in graduate studies and research, with the following profile:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Interest in strengthening areas of collaboration with HEIs members in Latin America.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in developing joint research projects in priority areas of shared interest.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in addressing issues with territorial or regional impact.<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to seeking and\/or mobilizing resources to develop joint research projects.<\/li>\n<li>Interest in strengthening research internationalization strategies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each delegation visiting the U.S. may send two (2) representatives, ideally including one researcher and one research director. All participants are expected to have completed the online matchmaking phase.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>5. <\/strong><strong>Working Methodology<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The academic mission will be supported by a matchmaking methodology that will allow for the identification of common areas of interest among participating institutions, facilitate connections between researchers with similar research lines, and organize bilateral meetings to explore collaboration opportunities[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4><strong>6. <\/strong><strong>Mission Phases<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]A maximum of 20 Latin American HEIs will be selected for this research mission, connecting them with researchers from Texas Tech University and other OUI\/IOHE member institutions in the U.S. After the Texas Tech Lubbock campus visit, delegates will also have the chance to visit other pre-identified U.S. institutions taking part in this exchange.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0a. <\/strong><strong>Call and Selection of Participants<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Call dissemination among IOHE-OUI member institutions in the U.S. and Latin America.<\/li>\n<li>Application evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Selection and confirmation of participating institutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>b.
