Within the framework of the 44th IOHE General Assembly of Members, a program of discussion, learning, and collaboration among IOHE members was developed, addressing the challenges and opportunities of higher education in the region.<\/p>\n

The Regional Vice Presidents presented an overview of the progress and challenges of the internationalization of higher education in their respective regions.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, Juan Sebasti\u00e1n Sandino, Manager of Digital Prospective at Pacte. co gave the workshop: \u201cThe Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education\u201d, which was followed by \u00c9tudier au Qu\u00e9bec’s presentation of key sectors in Quebec and collaborations in the academic sector (\u201cPr\u00e9sentation des secteurs cl\u00e9s du Qu\u00e9bec et des collaborations dans le secteur acad\u00e9mique\u201d) by Myriam Savard-Lajeunesse of the Quebec Ministry of International Relations (Minist\u00e8re des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie (MRIF) du Qu\u00e9bec).<\/p>\n

During the luncheon offered by the Fundaci\u00f3n Universitaria del \u00c1rea Andina, Juan Daniel Oviedo Arango, Economist and current councilman of Bogot\u00e1, gave a talk on \u201cTrends in Higher Education, a Comparative view of the Americas\u201d.<\/p>\n

Taking advantage of the presence of the designated president of the Consejo Nacional de Rectores (CONARE) for 2025, Mar\u00eda Estrada S\u00e1nchez, president of the Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Costa Rica, and IOHE Regional Vice President for Central America, the participation plans for the Congress of the Americas on International Education (CAEI 2025) to be held from October 15 to 17 in San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica, were presented, the involvement of Colombian higher education authorities was arranged and the participation of members of the Asociaci\u00f3n Colombiana de Universidades (ASCUN)(ASCUN) in the congress was discussed, among other topics.<\/p>\n

The day ended with a thematic roundtable activity led by the IOHE management team, composed of Leticia Jim\u00e9nez, Academic Director, Fernando Daniels, Director of Planning and Development, and Claudia Nunez del Arco, Head of Institutional Relations.<\/p>\n

This exercise provided a space for more formal meetings and relations between authorities and representatives of IOHE member institutions of higher education to explore synergies and possibilities for collaboration between them at the bilateral level.<\/p>\n

These working groups focused on key areas aligned with the main functions of HEIs in the service of their communities:<\/p>\n

– Research and Teaching<\/p>\n

– Internationalization<\/p>\n

– Liaison<\/p>\n
