The IGLU 2025 Internship was held in Colima and Guadalajara, Mexico, from March 10 to 14. It brought together executives from various higher education institutions in Colombia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Uruguay, all graduates of the Institute of Management and University Leadership (IGLU).<\/em><\/p>\n

The first two days of activities were held at the Universidad de Colima, Vice-Presidency OUI Mexico Region. The inauguration was in charge of Dr. Christian Torres Ortiz Zerme\u00f1o, Rector of the Universidad de Colima, and Dr. Leticia Jim\u00e9nez, Academic Director of the IOHE, who highlighted the relevance of this program for the strengthening of management and leadership in higher education.<\/p>\n

As part of the program, Dr. Christian Torres gave a presentation on the visions and challenges of a rector’s office, reflecting on academic leadership, current challenges in a changing environment and strategies to ensure excellence, innovation, inclusion and linkage with society. There were also a series of conferences and lectures with experts from the university, as well as cultural events at its facilities.<\/p>\n

The third day of the internship continued at the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Guadalajara, with a welcome from Juan Carlos Lea\u00f1o, Administrative Vice Rector, followed by the dialogue \u201cCulture of innovation: growing by growing\u201d with Dr. Judith Arredondo, Director of Innovation and Development. A series of conferences and conversations were also held with different experts focused on educational innovation. During these sessions, best practices in the field of innovation were highlighted and the agreement with Arizona State University was presented as a model of strategic collaboration.<\/p>\n

The following day, participants visited the Universidad de Guadalajara, where they were received by Mr. Luis Gustavo Padilla Montes, Rector of the University Center for Economic and Administrative Sciences, and Dr. Carlos Iv\u00e1n Moreno Arellano, General Director of the Virtual University and Digital Learning for Life.<\/p>\n

During the visit, the attendees learned in detail about the UDG+ virtual model and explored the initiatives and best practices that the institution has developed in virtual education.<\/p>\n

To conclude the visit, they toured the University Cultural Center and the Public Library of the State of Jalisco \u201cJuan Jos\u00e9 Arreola\u201d, emblematic spaces that reflect the commitment of the Universidad de Guadalajara to culture, education and innovation.<\/p>\n

The internship concluded at the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac (UNIVA), where Francisco Ram\u00edrez Y\u00e1\u00f1ez, Rector, and Dr. Cristina Mart\u00ednez Arrona, General Academic Director, gave a welcome message to the participants.<\/p>\n

Throughout the day, reflection and learning consolidation activities were carried out, giving attendees the opportunity to reaffirm their commitment to the transformation of higher education through human leadership and inter-institutional collaboration.<\/p>\n

The event closed with the presentation of diplomas to the participants and a few words from Dr. Leticia Jim\u00e9nez, who expressed her gratitude to all the host universities for making this enriching experience possible.<\/p>\n
