{"id":1971,"date":"2018-03-16T17:00:43","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T21:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/v-colloque-social-campus-fr\/"},"modified":"2018-12-13T10:43:49","modified_gmt":"2018-12-13T15:43:49","slug":"v-colloquium-social-campus-en","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/en\/v-colloquium-social-campus-en\/","title":{"rendered":"Successful Conclusion to the Fifth Social-CAMPUS Colloquium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-1966\" src=\"http:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/20180329.-V-Colloque-CAMPUS-300x213.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"213\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Puebla, Mexico, March 16, 2018 &#8211; The event held at the Benem\u00e9rita Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Puebla\u2019s (BUAP) University Cultural Complex in Mexico gathered key members of the higher education community from across various regions of the continent.<\/p>\n<p>The Fifth Edition of the Inter-American Social-CAMPUS Colloquium took place on March 15<sup>th<\/sup> and 16<sup>th<\/sup> under the theme, \u201cInter-American Cooperation in Research and Graduate Studies as a Strategy for Sustainable Regional Development.\u201d The Colloquium was organized by IOHE\u2019s CAMPUS Program and <em>Benem\u00e9rita Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Puebla<\/em> (BUAP) in collaboration with the l\u2019<em>Asociaci\u00f3n Nacional de Universidades e Instituciones de Educaci\u00f3n Superior<\/em> (ANUIES).\u00a0 During this meeting, various ways were discussed though which inter-American cooperation, particularly in the area of research and graduate studies, can act as a strategy to promote sustainable development always with the primary objective of promoting of social inclusion and the reduction of inequalities in access to higher education.<\/p>\n<p>The Colloquium\u2019s extensive program included 50 presentations from 12 countries with the presence of leaders in higher education such as IOHE\u2019s Executive Director, Dr. David Julien, Dr. Rosa Montes, CAMPUS-IOHE\u2019s Executive Director and Executive Director for BUAP\u2019s International Education Centre, ANUIES General Director for Strategic Liaison, Dr. Guillermo Hern\u00e1ndez Duque, as well as university Presidents, Vice-Presidents, academics, professors, and other experts in the field.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs research and graduate education are faced with increasingly complex challenges at any given time, we need to reconsider the traditional way of functioning in order to meet the challenges of sustainable development.
