{"id":2094,"date":"2017-05-11T17:00:18","date_gmt":"2017-05-11T21:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/buap-campus-oui\/"},"modified":"2019-01-08T12:45:36","modified_gmt":"2019-01-08T17:45:36","slug":"buap-campus-iohe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/en\/buap-campus-iohe\/","title":{"rendered":"BUAP Mexico, new headquarters for the CAMPUS-IOHE Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Montreal, Canada, 05\/11\/2017 &#8211; The headquarters of the<strong> Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE)\u2019s<\/strong> <strong>CAMPUS <\/strong>program is currently situated at <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.buap.mx\/\">Benem\u00e9rita Universidad Aut\u00f3noma -BUAP<\/a><\/em> \u00a0(Mexico) where it will remain for the next five years under the direction of Dr. Rosa Montes, a recognized academic at the continental level.<\/p>\n<p>This decision was approved during the 76<sup>th<\/sup> annual board meeting and ratified on November 25<sup>th<\/sup> 2016 during the 36<sup>th<\/sup> General Assembly for members of the organization, and entered into force upon the signature of a bilateral agreement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rich history of BUAP, during which it has demonstrated its commitment towards the comprehensive education of its citizens, critical and capable of reflection, through three cycles of higher education, makes this institution ideal for hosting CAMPUS\u201d, declared secretary general of IOHE, Dr. David Julien.<\/p>\n<p>From 2008 to 2016, the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.utpl.edu.ec\/\">Universidad T\u00e9cnica Particular de Loja (UTPL)<\/a><\/em> (Ecuador) was headquarters for the program and was distinguished by its innovative projects.\u00a0 This institution, in turn, provided its invaluable support to the process of transition and continues to collaborate with CAMPUS as part of the program\u2019s Governing Board by offering its academic support in various lines of action, notably DOC-CAMPUS and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oui-iohe.org\/en\/launching-chair-laudato-si\/\">Chair <em>Laudato Si\u2019<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to the organizational scheme of IOHE\u2019s other programs (the <em>College of the Americas<\/em> \u2013 COLAM, the <em>Institute for University Management and Leadership<\/em> \u2013 IGLU, and the <em>Space for Women Leaders from Higher Education Institutions in the Americas\u00a0<\/em>\u2013 EMULIES), CAMPUS relies on a Board of Governors composed of representatives from institutions across IOHE\u2019s various regions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Dr. Ra\u00fal Arias, Academic Secretary, <em>Universidad de Guanajuato<\/em> (UGto), Mexico<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Dr. Jos\u00e9 Barbosa, President, UTPL, Ecuador<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Dr. Ariel Cuadro, Academic Vice-President, <em>Universidad Cat\u00f3lica del Uruguay<\/em><\/li>\n<li>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Dr. Nora Nagels, Professor of Political Science, <em>Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al (UQ\u00c0M)<\/em>, Canada<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Because of its programs, including CAMPUS, IOHE has hosted dozens of events in collaboration with its members.
