at the ANUIES International Conference 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Executive Director of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE), Dr. David Julien, participated in the International Conference of the <em><u><a href=\"http:\/\/www.anuies.mx\/\">Asociaci\u00f3n Nacional de Universidades e Instituciones de Educaci\u00f3n Superior (ANUIES)<\/a><\/u><\/em> of Mexico, where he shared experiences with Mexican university presidents as well as general directors and executive secretaries of the main higher education associations and organizations of the Americas and the European Union.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ANUIES International Conference represents a unique forum which aims at always fostering the links between the IOHE and Mexico, key Region of the Organization, where approximately 60 out of our 350 members are located\u201d, said Dr. Julien.\u00a0 The headquarter of the IOHE\u2019s Regional Vice-Presidency of Mexico is located in Guadalajara, at the premises of the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.udg.mx\/\">Universidad de Guadalajara<\/a><\/em>, and is led by the General President Tonatiuh Bravo Padilla.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis way, and following the recent bilateral agreements signed between Mexico and Canada, particularly with the province of Quebec, where the General Secretariat is established, it is highly important to notify our Mexican partners about the development of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.caie-caei.org\/\">Conference of the Americas on International Education (CAIE),<\/a> to be held from October 11<sup>th<\/sup> to 13<sup>th<\/sup>, 2017, and to which they are cordially invited\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n<p>The ANUIES conference was organized by this institution along with the <em>Universidad Nacional Aut\u00f3noma de M\u00e9xico<\/em> (UNAM) and it took place from November 8<sup>th<\/sup> to 11<sup>th<\/sup>, 2016, at the <em>Palacio de Miner\u00eda<\/em> of Mexico City under the following theme: &#8220;Higher Education in the Agenda of 2030 for the Sustained Development&#8221;.\u00a0 The IOHE\u2019s Executive Director participated in the <em>Panel of International Associations of Higher Education &#8220;Strategies and Experiences of Collaboration among the Associations for Higher Education&#8221;<\/em>, the International Forum<em> of International Associations of Higher Education: \u201cEducational alliances for the Sustainable\u00a0Development Goals (SDG)\u201d, <\/em>and the<em> II Summit of University Presidents Councils Leaders in the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201c(The event) aims at thinking about the contributions and strategies that higher education organizations and institutions of the Americas and the European Union shall achieve in order to reach the 17 SDG\u201d, explained the Executive Director of ANUIES, Dr. Jaime Valls Esponda.<\/p>\n<p>Seizing the opportunity of being in the capital, Dr. Julien met with different authorities of the <em>Secretar\u00eda de Educaci\u00f3n P\u00fablica<\/em> (SEP), the <em>Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnolog\u00eda<\/em> (CONACYT), the <em>Tecnol\u00f3gico Nacional de M\u00e9xico<\/em> (TecNM), and the <em>Asociaci\u00f3n Nacional de Universidades Tecnol\u00f3gicas<\/em> (ANUT) in order to consolidate the proposal of the High Management Seminar on Innovative Management of Technical and Technological Institutes that will be offered in March 2017, in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>We would like to invite all the Mexican members as well as our Regional Vice-Presidencies to join us at the IOHE\u2019s General Assembly, to be held on November 25<sup>th<\/sup>, 2016, at the <em>Universidad de Guadalajara,<\/em>
