{"id":2306,"date":"2016-09-30T17:00:02","date_gmt":"2016-09-30T21:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/agr-bresil-iv-colloque-social-campus\/"},"modified":"2019-01-09T14:08:48","modified_gmt":"2019-01-09T19:08:48","slug":"rg-brazil-iv-social-campus-colloquium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/en\/rg-brazil-iv-social-campus-colloquium\/","title":{"rendered":"Regional Assembly Brazil and IV Social CAMPUS Colloquium"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Regional Assembly of the <strong>IOHE<\/strong>\u00a0Membership in Brazil and the <strong>IV SOCIAL-CAMPUS<\/strong> <strong>Colloquium <\/strong>took place on September 29<sup>th<\/sup> and 30<sup>th<\/sup>,\u00a02016, at the premises of the <em>Universidade do Sul de Santa Catarina<\/em> (UNISUL), Florianopolis.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, authorities of the region have been designated for the 2016-2018 period. In this context, the new composition of authorities is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Vice-President:<\/strong> Dr. Luis Carlos Cancellier de Olivo, President, <em>Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina<\/em> (UFSC)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Substitute Vice-President: <\/strong>Dr. Sebasti\u00e3o Sal\u00e9sio Herdt, President, UNISUL<\/li>\n<li><strong>Counsellors:<br \/>\n<\/strong>* Dr. Benedito Guimar\u00e3es Aguiar Neto, President, <em>Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie <\/em>(UPM)<br \/>\n* Dr. Waldemiro Gremski, President, <em>Pontif\u00edcia Universidade Cat\u00f3lica do Paran\u00e1 <\/em>(PUC Paran\u00e1)<br \/>\n* Dr. Sidney de Matos Mello, President, <em>Universidade Federal Fluminense <\/em>(UFF)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8220;Brazil is facing a key moment in its history and is currently thinking of redefining the parameters of governance within its higher education system, which seems to be an ideal opportunity for the IOHE to reconsider the manner in which it responds to the needs of HEIs in the country,&#8221; said Dr. David Julien, Executive Director of the IOHE.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, carrying out the <strong>IV Colloque SOCIAL CAMPUS,<\/strong> initiative of CAMPUS-IOHE Program, was possible thanks to the collaboration of the UFSC, <em>Universidade Federal Fluminense<\/em> (UFF), <em>Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Catarinense das Funda\u00e7\u00f5es Educacionais<\/em> (Sistema ACAFE), and <em>Instituto de Pesquisa e Estudos em Administra\u00e7\u00e3o Universit\u00e1ria<\/em> (INPEAU).<\/p>\n<p>The event, held in the premises of the UNISUL, brought together over 100 participants coming from different countries. This edition was devoted to better know the Brazilian strategies, discuss them, and reflect on them through the good practices carried out in other regions of the Americas, and to ponder the question of social inclusion and student retention in the higher education sector.<\/p>\n<p>The IOHE organizes annually hundreds of events such as colloquiums, seminars and courses.
