{"id":3454,"date":"2019-03-22T14:40:22","date_gmt":"2019-03-22T18:40:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/congreso-politicas-universitarias-genero\/"},"modified":"2019-03-22T14:57:20","modified_gmt":"2019-03-22T18:57:20","slug":"congress-university-gender-policies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oui-iohe.org\/en\/congress-university-gender-policies\/","title":{"rendered":"Success for the first Congress on University Gender Policies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Rosario, Argentina, March 22, 2019 \u2013 Organized by the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) program, the Space of Women Leaders from Higher Education Institutions in the Americas (EMULIES), the first Congress of University Gender Policies was held on March 14 and 15, in the city of Rosario, Argentina.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The event, which gathered more than 100 participants and more than 30 exhibitors, was organized in collaboration with the <em>Universidad Nacional de Rosario<\/em> (UNR) in its capacity as Vice-President IOHE &#8211; Southern Cone, the program <em>G\u00e9nero y Universidad<\/em> de la UNR and the <em>Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica del Per\u00fa<\/em> (PUCP). This congress was also sponsored by the Canadian Embassy in Argentina, the <em>Asociaci\u00f3n Argentina de Estudios Canadienses<\/em> (ASAEC), the UNESCO Chair in Gender Equality in Higher Education Institutions (PUCP) and the UNESCO Regional Chair on Women, Science and Technology in Latin America (FLACSO Argentina).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium justify;\">The Congress tackled two main themes linking research and the implementation of concrete actions in the field of gender policies in higher education: (a) Knowing the situation of women in higher education institutions, and b) Based on the points made above, learning about strategies, experiences and good practices related to university gender policies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" justify;\">These lines of research were presented by Ana Buquet and Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 Rodr\u00edguez, during two days, as well as in six panels on leadership and conciliation strategies, science and innovation, gender violence, processes implementation of university gender policies, rectors institutionalizing equality and the state facing university gender policies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among the speakers, one must mention the participation of representatives of the Argentine government (Minister Erica Hynes, Minister Claudia Balagu\u00e9, MP Mercosur Mar\u00eda Luisa Storani), the chancellors and vice-chancellors (Sara Ladr\u00f3n de Guevara, Agustina Rodriguez Saa, M\u00f3nica Coca, and Doris Cevallos) and recognized academics, researchers and thinkers from Latin America (Dora Barrancos, Diana Maffia, Patricia Gomez, Gloria Bonder, Lidia Heller, Diana Kiss, Patricia Diana Kiss, Patricia Giustiniani, Liliana Casta\u00f1eda, Maria de Los Angeles Rodriguez, Anal\u00eda Auc\u00eda, Luz Mar\u00eda Velazquez, Sabrina Benedetto Lorena Crespi, Olga Corna, Violeta Jard\u00f3n, Beatriz Rodriguez, Meritxell Calbet).<\/p>\n<p><img
