For the third time, the Inter-American University Organization (OUI-IOHE) and the Center for International Higher Education (CIHE) at Boston College jointly organize an activity on Innovation and internationalization.<\/em><\/p>\n

This year, as a result of the pandemic, the Specialized Seminar “Innovations in the Internationalization of Higher Education” is held in virtual mode.<\/p>\n

For the third time, the Inter-American University Organization (OUI-IOHE) and the Center for International Higher Education (CIHE) at Boston College jointly organize an activity on Innovation and internationalization.<\/p>\n

This year, as a result of the pandemic, the Specialized Seminar “Innovations in the Internationalization of Higher Education” is held in virtual mode.<\/p>\n

This seminar offers new models and proposals for the Internationalization of Higher Education, emphasizing the importance of innovation on the subject.<\/p>\n

To do this, for a week, participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and practices synchronously with our invited experts and asynchronous work on the platform with our expert facilitators.<\/p>\n

The Opening Conference began with a message from Dr. Gerardo Blanco, CIHE Academic Director and Dr. Rebecca Schendel, CIHE Administrative Director.<\/p>\n

On behalf of IOHE, Dr. David Julien, Executive Secretary General, shared a few words with the 50 directors and managers of 23 Higher Education Institutions from 9 Latin American countries that participate in this academic activity.<\/p>\n

Also present at IOHE were Dr. Leticia Jim\u00e9nez, Academic Director, Mtro. Fernando Daniels, Director of Planning and Development, and Dr. Gabriela Narvaez, Academic Coordinator of the Virtual Classroom.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, the first panel of the seminar took place in which Mtra. Erin Baldwin (American Council on Education – ACE) and Dr. Hans de Wit (Center for International Higher Education – CIHE) discussed new models for future-oriented internationalization.<\/p>\n

Dr. de Wit spoke about the changes that the Covid-19 pandemic and Brexit have brought, referred to what the main issues will be in the future of internationalization, and stressed that \u201cthere is no perfect internationalization model. It is not about copying practices, but about adapting them according to institutional realities. ”<\/p>\n

For her part, Mtra. Baldwin shared about comprehensive internationalization, institutional transformation and stated that “\u2026 in relation to internationalization, we have to move from mobility to mindset and that this idea has resonated with university leaders during the pandemic.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Blanco closed the meeting by stating that the activities will continue in the Virtual Classroom and next Thursday and Friday the synchronous sessions with the conferences of international specialists will be resumed.<\/p>\n

This training activity receives virtually 49 participants and 12 experts in a discussion and exchange of experiences.<\/p>\n
