Montreal, May 8, 2018 – The Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) invites its member institutions to participate in the second edition of the Inter-American Prize for Innovative Educational Models in Higher Education (MEIN Award).

Organized jointly by the IOHE, the College of the Americas (COLAM) and the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia (UCC), the aim of the MEIN Award is to promote the dissemination, exchange and knowledge of educational practices that, due to their characteristics and results, are relevant examples of educational innovation in higher education.

Among the themes highlighted this year, the concepts of strategies and management of educational innovation will allow candidates to address the issues of internationalization, planning, academic management or retention and graduation strategies.

Trends in information technology will not be forgotten as virtual education and the use of digital technologies in the teaching process will be explored.

As the MEIN Award aims to create bridges between the university environment and the different communities and industry sectors, the theme of equitable access to higher education will be discussed, as well as those of the university social responsibility and entrepreneurship.

Launched by the IOHE in June 2016, in the Dominican Republic, the first edition of the MEIN Award mobilized more than 80 higher education institution members of the IOHE and generated a space to meet and exchange about the latest trends and innovative educational practices implemented in HEIs on the continent.
