The 5th edition of the MEIN Award will be held virtually, from September 23 to 25, under the theme of “Use of artificial intelligence in higher education: Strategies, successes and challenges.”

1.1 The competition is open to all Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) members*

1.2 The competition will have two modalities: The presentation of research results and the presentation of case studies addressing the central theme and the sub-themes of the MEIN Award 2024. For both modalities, the education innovation must be in place at the time of submission.

1.3 The competition will take place in two stages: The presentation of abstracts (Stage 1), during which a short list of research projects and case studies will be selected, with the authors invited to submit a complete detailed proposal and to present before an international jury (Stage 2).

1.4 Abstracts and full papers can be submitted in one of the four official IOHE languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese or English.

1.5 The Jury will select the three best projects presented (research or case studies). In addition, the Jury can award Honorable Mentions to those judged relevant as to their quality and impact in relation to the objectives of the Award.

1.6 Two electronic publications will be produced with all of the works presented to the International Jury: A book with the results of the selected research projects, which will undergo external peer review, and a dissemination book containing the case studies gathering innovative practices.
