Mazatlan, Mexico, November 23, 2018 – The fourth ANUIES 2018 International Conference, hosted by the Universidad Autónoma de Sonora (UAS), served as a framework for the signing of an agreement between the Asociación Nacional de Universidades e Instituciones de Educación Superior (ANUIES) and the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (OUI – IOHE) for the installation of the Mexico IGLU-ANUIES center.

“It is a pleasure for ANUIES to sign this collaboration agreement with an important academic network as we share the purpose of contributing to the strengthening and transformation of higher education“, explained Jaime Valls Esponda, ANUIES General Secretary.

The ANUIES and the IOHE have the great task of achieving cooperation and harmonization of institutional projects that positively impact educational quality. Today with the installation of the IGLU Center in Mexico, at the ANUIES headquarters, we have taken a firm step as an organization to that great task. Not only do we have the backing of a great ally but an unbeatable ally, Mr. Secretary, thank you for making our house our home“, said Dr. Leticia Jiménez, Executive Director of the IGLU.

To support the signing of this agreement, the hosts of the conference, the Rector of the UAS, Dr. Juan Eulogio Guerra Liera, and the academic general director of ANUIES, Dr. Roberto Villers Aispuro were both as witnesses of honor.
