As part of the course “Design and Planning for the Implementation of Educational Interventions in COIL Environments,” a panel discussion titled “COIL Methodology: Perspectives from Teaching Experience” was held, providing a space for dialogue and the exchange of best practices regarding Collaborative Online International Learning.

The session featured the following panelists: Mr. Fray Martínez Páez, Curriculum Internationalization Specialist, Universidad del Rosario (Colombia); Ms. Margarita Guarín, Global Classroom Coordinator, Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata (Argentina); and Mr. Ángel Fernández Montiel, Internationalization Consultant (Mexico), moderated by Leticia Jiménez, Academic Director of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE).

During the panel, the experts shared their personal and institutional experiences in implementing COIL, addressing key aspects such as the results achieved, success factors, as well as the main challenges and opportunities identified in the development of such initiatives.

They also offered practical recommendations for faculty and students, aimed at strengthening the implementation of COIL projects in various educational contexts.

The event concluded with an open question-and-answer session, which allowed for active participation from attendees.

This panel is part of a training process involving internationalization managers and faculty members from higher education institutions in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, El Salvador, and the Dominican Republic, thereby consolidating a regional academic collaboration network focused on educational innovation.
