CAIE’s founding members reaffirm their commitment

At the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE)’s 50th Annual Conference, the three founding organizations of the Conference of the Americas on International Education (CAIE): the CBIE-BCIE, the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC), and the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE), signed a renewal of their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

‘Seven years ago in 2009 CBIE partnered with CONAHEC and OUI-IOHE in order to launch the first ever Conference of the Americas on International Education,’ said Karen McBride, President and CEO of CBIE, ‘and we are delighted to be reaffirming our mutual commitment at our 50th Annual Conference.’

Karen McBride was joined at the signing by David Julien, Executive Director for IOHE and David Atkinson, President of the CONAHEC Board for CONAHEC.

All three organizations are pleased to announce that CAIE’s 5th edition is coming back to Canada next year with the theme: Preparing Tomorrow’s Leaders & Innovators: Research and Higher Education, bridges to prosperity across the AmericasThe First CAIE Edition was held in Calgary, in 2010.

‘With the successful first four editions, I believe we reached our main objective of setting up CAIE as the most important conference on international education bringing the entire continent together,’ said David Julien, ‘and we’re confident that the CAIE-2017 in Montreal will be a great platform for Canadian institutions to meet with key stakeholders from the Americas and abroad.’

The event will be hosted by the consortium of Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM)Concordia UniversityMcGill UniversityUniversité de Montreal and Ecole de Technologie Supérieure in Montreal from 11 to 13 October, 2017.
