Panama, May 18, 2018 – Following the signing of an agreement last April between the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) and the Continuing Education Network in Latin America and Europe (RECLA), Dr. Leticia Jiménez, Executive Director of the Institute of Management and University Leadership (IGLU), visited Panama on May 17 and 18 to participate in the regional RECLA meeting.

It is in the heart of the Panamanian capital, within the Universidad Latina of Panama, that this meeting of RECLA brought together more than ten Ibero-American countries. The purpose of this event was to align RECLA’s various continuing education programs with the needs of different industrial sectors. Through conferences, round tables, workshops, analyses and sharing of experiences, participants were able to draw the trends and challenges of continuing education in the region.

It is in this perspective that the IOHE will provide RECLA with a wide range of academic products through its programs, particularly the IGLU program.

This important event provided a great platform for IGLU and its director, Dr. Leticia Jiménez, who presented her courses and activities on offer to leaders of higher education in the Americas in a conference entitled, “Training and Development of Higher Education Leaders in the Americas.” Her presence at the panels and round tables also allowed her to work on a strategy of formal recognition of IGLU programs within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). She has thus been able to share her vision of the internationalization of higher education and reinforce the links with the many local stakeholders present on site.
