Philadelphia, June 6, 2018 – The Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) was represented, last week, at the NAFSA Annual Conference, by Luis Kauachi, Project Director and Academic Coordinator of the Congress of the Americas on International Education (CAIE).

The NAFSA Annual Conference is the largest conference on international education in the world and unites nearly 10,000 attendees each year from more than 3,500 institutions and organizations from over 100 countries.

During the conference, the IOHE participated in many activities organized by various national delegations including those held by EduCanada as part of “Canada Day in May” and by other higher education associations such as the Network of International Education Associations.

The participation of the IOHE in this international event has allowed it to strengthen the collaboration with the university community and associate members, and especially to promote the upcoming Congress of the Americas on International Education (CAIE), which will be held October 23-25, 2019 in Bogota, Colombia, in cooperation with the Asociación colombiana de universidades (ASCUN).

A large Colombian delegation, composed of representatives of the government, funding agencies, various associations and institutions of higher education, seized the opportunity to promote this major gathering of the Americas as partners of the IOHE, the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration (CONAHEC) and the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE-CBIE) in the organization of CAIE-2019.
