Costa Rica hosted the first edition of the Inter-American School of Higher Education (ESIES-2025), an initiative of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) that brought together 36 doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows from 10 countries across the continent.
The activity was held at the facilities of the Consejo Nacional de Rectores (CONARE), with the support and coordination of the Academic Division of OPES, within the framework of the 9th edition of the Congress of the Americas on International Education (CAEI-2025).
The Doctoral School coordinated a network of institutions from Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Costa Rica, and Colombia to strengthen advanced training and research in higher education. During the week of October 17-24, young researchers from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the United States, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic participated, accompanied by nine academic experts from six countries.
The program seeks to strengthen strategic areas in doctoral training and stimulate the internationalization of research in higher education.
