The Regional Observatory on Internationalization and Tertiary Education Networks in Latin America and the Caribbean (OBIRET), under the coordination of the International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO-IESALC), currently conduct the I Regional Survey on Internationalization of Tertiary Education in Latin America and the Caribbean an initiative the IOHE welcomes at the time we invite our membership to participate.

The purpose of this survey is having a regional overview on the international dimension of the universities of the region, identifying the main trends, strengths, risks, obstacles and limitations.

As explained in the invitation to participate, this survey came as a response to the lack of systematic and comprehensive information of the internationalization process.

In this context, and to streamline the process, it is recommended that the survey is answered by responsibles of internationalization and cooperation of institutions of higher education.
