NAFSA: Association of International Educators and the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) have signed an agreement of understanding that allows for the visibility, dissemination and positioning of the conferences that both organizations will host in 2025: the NAFSA Annual Conference and Exposition, to be held May 27-30 in San Diego, California, United States, and the Conference of the Americas on International Education (CAIE) to be held in San Jose, Costa Rica, October 15-17.
Part of this alliance consists of offering a preferential rate for CAIE2025 to NAFSA members, which corresponds to a 14% discount on the general individual rate, so that those interested in registering for the event will benefit from a value equivalent to the price paid by IOHE members.
Within the framework of this agreement, Dr. María Estrada Sánchez, President of the Tecnológico de Costa Rica (TEC), who also serves as President of the Consejo Nacional de Rectores de Costa Rica – CONARE and is a member of the IOHE Board of Directors as Vice President for Central America, will participate in the “Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Forum” at the NAFSA 2025 Conference on Wednesday, May 28.
Dr. Fanta Aw, executive director and CEO of NAFSA, will lead the NAFSA delegation at CAIE2025 and will act as moderator of the IOHE Women Presidents Forum 2025, which is part of the EMULIES initiative, “Espacio de Mujeres Líderes de Instituciones de Educación Superior de las Américas” (Space of Women Leaders from Higher Education Institutions in the Americas -EMULIES), scheduled for October 13 and 14 of this year and which will be held within the framework of the CAIE2025.
