IOHE/CAEI 2025 Mission in Panama

The Executive Director of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE), David Julien, traveled on a mission to Panama to strengthen ties with higher education institutions in the Central American region and mobilize Panamanian HEIs toward CAEI 2025, which will take place from October 15 to 17 in San José, Costa Rica.

The day began with an outreach activity with IOHE members, members of the Asociación de Universidades Particulares de Panamá, and members of the Consejo Nacional de Evaluación y Acreditación Universitaria de Panamá (CONEAUPA), in which the following participated, among others: Dr. María del C. de Benavides, executive secretary of CONEAUPA, sponsored by Rector Juan Pablo Cardozo of the Universidad del Istmo.

Dr. Julien also met with Dr. Martha Moore, Acting Rector of the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (UTP) on the campus of that institution, to strengthen ties with the new rectoral team, and to extend an invitation to participate in the Conference of the Americas on International Education (CAEI2025), whose theme for the ninth edition will be “Transforming Knowledge into Development.”

Finally, the mission included the participation of Dr. David Julien as moderator of the panel “Excellence for what? Rethinking Quality in the Age of Change,” which took place at the International Forum on Innovation in Higher Education and featured panelists Fernando León García, Rector of CETYS University/President of AMUP; Eric Molino Ferrer, Investment Banking and Financial Planning Partner, Trusted Advisor Group; Raquel Garcia Sitton, VP of Acquisition and Business Services; and Mario Gómez, Senior Solutions Engineer at D2L. INNKIND FIEd LATAM organized this event under the slogan: “Education Hack + Data – Dogmas.”
