The Inter-American Organization for Higher Education and the Centro Nacional de Sanidad Agropecuaria (CENSA) will work together to develop the second phase of the project.

The objective of this project is to promote innovative and sustainable agricultural practices aimed at reactivating the sector in the post-COVID-19 phase.

It will also try to create networks so that the existing knowledge between the different actors circulates from one to another and that it is possible to achieve sustainable development that allows reducing the gaps between the key actors.

Since 2016, Quebec and Cuba have supported cooperation projects in various sectors.

The sectors to which the calls for projects are directed are determined by the Québec and Cuban authorities, with the collaboration of the Bureau du Québec à La Havane (BQLH), and are based on the Joint Declaration of Québec-Cuba cooperation.

The Québec-Cuba Working Group (GTQC), established in accordance with this joint declaration, is the main instrument for coordinating exchanges between the two governments.

The 2020-2021 call for projects will allow the implementation of the Québec-Cuba 2018-2020 Action Plan to continue.

It will also be in line with the priorities that the GTQC will establish for the next two years.
