The Regional Assembly Colombia of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) took place on June 1st, 2016, at the headquarters of the Asociación Colombiana de Universidades (ASCUN).

In the context of this meeting, highlighted was the commitment expressed by the delegates of the 21 represented institutions that have formed teamworks, while concentrating on the initiatives and projects of the IOHE in the region leadered by Dr. Germán Anzola Montero, President of the Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Ambientales.

In this 2016 Assembly, Colombia develops important IOHE activities that aim at improving the Higher Education in the Americas, such as the International Conference on Knowledge and Innovation (CIKI) 2016 conceived by the College of the Americas (COLAM), from the 31st of October to the 1st of November, in collaboration with the Universidad Santo Tomás, Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Engenharia do Conhecimento (EGC);the International Seminar on Social Innovation: Where are we going to? Concepts, Strategies, Progress, and Propositions, from June 7th to 9th, also prepared by the COLAM, together with the Corporación Universitaria Minuto de Dios (UNIMINUTO), the IGLU Course, on August 1st, organized by the  Institute for University Management and Leadership (IGLU) and Universidad del Rosario; as well as the III Inter-American Space of Technical and Technological Institutions of Higher Education (EIESTEC), in September, other initiative of the IGLU, in collaboration with the UNICATOLICA de Cali.
