The workshop “Teacher Training Strategies for Internationalization in the Classroom” was held at the Universidad Salvadoreña Alberto Masferrer (USAM)and led by Dr. Leticia Jiménez, Academic Director of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE).
The day began with welcoming remarks by Dr. Daysi Carolina de Gómez, Preident of USAM and IOHE Regional Advisor for El Salvador . The event was attended by authorities from various Salvadoran universities, who joined the dialogue on the challenges and possibilities posed by internationalization in higher education.
This workshop was conceived as a space for reflection, learning, and academic exchange, focused on providing faculty with practical tools to integrate a global perspective into their classrooms. Through case studies, active methodologies, and best practices, participants discussed how to transcend the traditional model of internationalization based on mobility, promoting more inclusive, sustainable approaches adapted to the regional context.
The activity reaffirms the commitment of the IOHE and USAM to higher education that trains citizens with a global vision, critical thinking skills, and competencies to face the challenges of an interconnected world.
