With the objective of beginning the process of strategic planning for the period of 2017-2022 for the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE), the LXXV Board of Directors  Meeting is held on April 22nd, 2016 at the Royal Roads University (RRU).

This event takes place during a time of improvement and renovations, under the continuing leadership of President, Dr. Allan Cahoon, President of the host institution and Vice-President for the region of Canada and under new management, headed by the Executive Secretary General, Dr. David Julien.

Thus, the Regional Vice-Presidencies and senior management of the IOHE are accompanying Dr. Cahoon and Dr. Julien, along with Vice Presidents, Executive Directors of the three IOHE programs, the Honorary President, Chancellor, Treasurer, Legal Advisor, and other guests who represent eight of nine regions covered by the Organization.

“I am delighted to be able to count on the presence and participation of our Vice Presidents, who are the voice of their regions and who inform us of the diversity of challenges and opportunities that the IOHE is confronted with on this continent”, said Dr. Julien.

He added: “The Presidency, for his part, was a masterful host of our activities and our Satisfaction Survey Workshop, that allowed us to gauge at what point innovation issues in higher education can be a source of positive change within our organization”.

The implementation of the 2011-2016 IOHE Strategic Guidelines comes to an end this year. Between 2011 and 2015 we have achieved significant results in the execution of these Guidelines with, to date, 43 of 45 planned actions implemented during this period.

These successes have been made possible thanks to the commitment of our senior level management and our participating institutions, dedication of Executive Directors of our programs (IGLU, COLAM and CAMPUS), as well as the participation of our members in the process of renovation and innovation of the Organization, in this second decade of the 21st, century. Through this meeting, the obtained successes will be deservingly followed-up and tracked.
