The Virtual Mobility Space in Higher Education (eMOVIES) is an initiative led by the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE), which offers participating higher education institutions (HEI) an alternative to traditional mobility models to promote international academic exchanges in higher education, by giving students the opportunity to take courses in virtual or distance mode offered by other IOHE Member Institutions.

• eMOVIES is a consortium of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) within the IOHE. Through an innovative collaborative framework, it promotes virtual mobility and academic cooperation to strengthen internationalization, while fostering the development of intercultural and digital competencies.
• It involves no additional cost for either participants or HEIs.

This service is designed for higher education students seeking to enhance their training. It offers them the opportunity to enroll at no cost in virtual courses at institutions in other countries in the Americas, facilitating an enriching academic, professional, and cultural journey that boosts their educational development.

This service empowers faculty members interested in international collaboration to co-design educational experiences. By integrating active and intercultural methodologies, it promotes curriculum internationalization and fosters collaborative online learning through direct peer cooperation and the joint development of teaching activities.
