MEIN 2020 Award Results

The third edition of the Inter-American Award for Innovative Educational Models in Higher Education (MEIN Award) was held virtually on October 19 and 20.

This event was held by the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE); College of the Americas (COLAM) and the Universidad de Monterrey (UdeM).

The MEIN 2020 Award collected a total of 39 experiences* in competition, from 28 HEIs from 10 countries, and had the participation of more than 180 attendees in the various activities that took place during the event.

The international jury **, made up of 11 academics awarded the awards to the following experiences:

1st place

“Responsabilidad Social Universitaria: Un modelo de formación aplicada en el pregrado”

Universidad de Talca, Chile.

2nd place

“Sistema Institucional de Evaluación de Competencias”

Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia.

3rd place

“Programa ASCENDERE: Creando un ecosistema de innovación docente”

Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, Ecuador.

Honorable mention

“Escuela Internacional de Innovación Social”

Tecnológico de Antioquia, Colombia.

The organizers and promoters of this inter-American event recognized the work and commitment to improving higher education of all the institutions that participated in this third edition of the MEIN Award and appreciated their interest in sharing their achievements, mistakes and challenges to implement innovative initiatives that their institutions and their environment are transformed.

**In this third version of the Inter-American Award for Innovative Educational Models in Higher Education (MEIN Award), the international jury that made the selection and evaluation of each of the experiences presented was made up of:
