IOHE Collaborative Classroom

The Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE), in response to its Strategic Objectives aimed at expanding services to its members, has established this inter-institutional linkage space for the implementation of training initiatives with all its membership through the IOHE Collaborative Classroom.

This dissemination space is designed for IOHE member institutions to share and promote their continuous education offerings, increasing the visibility and reach of their training activities, contributing to an inter-American relational dynamic on the following lines:
1. Equity and inclusion
2. Research
3. Leadership
4. Educational innovation
5. Internationalization
6. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Objective

To have a space for promoting and disseminating external continuous education offerings that strengthen, facilitate, and expand access to various training lines offered in collaboration with the IOHE member institutions.

Directed to

IOHE members with active membership, specifically in the continuous education areas of higher education institutions.

Types of virtual and in-person activities

  • Complete courses last up to six weeks.
  • Course modules last up to four weeks.
  • One-day seminars with synchronous and asynchronous activities.
  • Workshops lasting up to three days for skill development and use of specific tools.

*The duration of the mentioned activities is approximate, and any variations can be discussed with the IOHE Academic Directorate.

Offer

We share the following options for virtual continuous education:

Universidade Comunitária da Região de Chapecó (Unochapecó)

Objectives:

  • To present grammatical structures, vocabulary, and the most common uses of the Portuguese language for speakers of other languages.

Target Audience:

Anyone interested in learning Portuguese.

Course Load:

20 hours

Modality:

E-learning / asynchronous

Available Until:

July 31, 2025.

Investment:

No cost.

Universidad Nacional de Hurlingham

Objectives:

  • This intensive summer course combines theory and practice to address the most pressing challenges in the agri-food system through inclusive technologies, food solutions, agroecology, and value addition. The course offers a multidisciplinary approach with case studies and practical tools.

Aimed at:

Students, teachers, non-teachers and researchers interested in food production, sustainable agriculture and planning food solutions against hunger.

Modality:

Virtual and English course

Available Until:

January 27 to March 22, 2025.

Requirements and Process for Joining the IOHE Collaborative Classroom

Requirements:

  • Be an IOHE member and be up to date with obligations.
  • Meet the characteristics of a virtual/in-person course: relevant and updated content; it can be a new course or one already operating, self-managed or with a tutor, free or at a cost, etc.
  • Content must be reviewed by the OUI Academic Directorate.
  • The course must focus on one of the mentioned continuous education lines.
  • Meet the established maximum duration (in general, although there may be exceptions).
  • Cover the technical and technological requirements for the operation of the course.

Incorporation Process:

  1. Complete the registration form with all the required information about the activity you wish to integrate into the IOHE Collaborative Classroom.
  2. It is important to specify in the form the direct contact email with the area responsible for the educational training you want to promote.
  3. A preliminary meeting will be necessary to specify the details of the Collaborative Classroom.
  4. Sign the participation commitment.
  5. Send the graphic materials with the specifications and required information about the educational training.

The Inter-American Organization for Higher Education (IOHE) informs that the courses offered through our IOHE Collaborative Classroom service correspond to continuous education actions of the IOHE member institutions, which assume responsibility for all processes involved in the development of the activity. Any questions or clarifications should be directed solely and exclusively to the higher education institution offering the service. Similarly, the procedures for registrations, development, platform use, academic inquiries, and certificate issuance must be coordinated directly with the offering institution.
