With the Opening Conference, the “Módulo Planificación y Gestión de la Internacionalización” from Diplomado en Internacionalización de la Educación Superior (DIES)” has began.
The conference featured welcoming remarks from Dr. Leticia Jiménez, IOHE Academic Director and was led by the tutors: Mg. Lynda Karen Vázquez Maldonado, Prof. Ximena Cardoso Arango and Dr. Norma Angélica Juárez Salomo.
The tutors developed topics such as:
- Definitions of internationalization
- Evolution of this concept
- His objectives
- Strategic planning of the same
- Relationship of internationalization with information and communication technologies
To end the event, which was coordinated by Dr. Gabriela Narvaez, Academic Coordinator of IOHE Virtual Classroom, Dr. Jiménez rescued some ideas from the presentations and closed with the following words: “It is important to identify internationalization as a transversal action that it is made up of activities throughout the institution and is constantly evolving. When planning internationalization, the relevance, the institutional reality and the context in which it is found must be taken into account. Everyone at the university can build and pay for internationalization regardless of where we are and the size of the activities we do. ”
Currently 45 people from 27 higher education institutions from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic are participating in the module.
