The opening session of the module featured welcoming words from Dr. Leticia Jiménez, Academic Director of the OUI, who also introduced the academic team made up of the tutors: Mtra. Lynda Karen Vázquez Maldonado, the Mtra. Ximena Cardoso Arango and Dr. Norma Angélica Juárez Salomo, and Dr. Gabriela Andrea Narváez, Academic Coordinator of the OUI Virtual Classroom.

Throughout the session, the tutors provided an introduction to the concept, objectives and evolution of internationalization and its strategic planning at the higher level.

This first module of the Diploma in Internationalization of Higher Education allows participants to develop management and planning skills in internationalization, two fundamental skills since “there is not a single internationalization model, each institution is different, it has a different level of development and therefore internationalization has to be pragmatic… We must seek to implement it based on the strengths of each institution”, highlighted La Mtra. Vazquez.

Participating in the module are 35 directors and teachers from 23 higher education institutions from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

The Diploma in Internationalization of Higher Education has three modules:

Planificación y Gestión de la Internacionalización

Estrategias para la Movilidad Académica

Internacionalización del Currículo: un enfoque conectivo
