XCII Board of Directors and XLIV General Assembly of Members of the Inter-American Organization for Higher Education, under the leadership of the Universidad Cooperativa de Colombia, Presidency of the IOHE.
Both meetings were held in a hybrid format, at the Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina (FUAA), headquarters of the IOHE Regional Vice-Presidency for Colombia.
The IOHE Board of Directors approved the Advisory Council’s proposal to implement a more robust work axis oriented toward the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including a training axis, a knowledge mobilization axis, and a dissemination axis.
A specific budget was also allocated to enable the project to be implemented in 2025. During the Assembly, 27 new institutions joined the IOHE this year, four Regional Vice-Presidencies were ratified: Central America, Canada, the Southern Cone, and the United States, and the activity reports of the new President, the Executive Secretary General, and the Treasurer were presented.
In addition, during the General Assembly, the Inter-American Award for Educational Innovation in Higher Education (MEIN Award) was presented to the following projects:

To close the Assembly, Dr. Elsa Beatriz Palacios, Director of Educational Innovation and Digital Learning, Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), gave the Keynote Lecture: “Digital Education in Higher Education”.
Consolidating bilateral relations with the authorities present and the representatives of the Canadian Embassy and Quebec, host country and province of the IOHE Executive Secretariat, the Director of the Quebec Office in Bogota of the Ministry of International Relations and Francophonie of Quebec (MRIF), Ms. Myriam Savard-Lajeunesse, also attended the Assembly, as well as the Executive Director of the Asociación Colombiana de Universidades (ASCUN), Dr. Oscar Dominguez.
The IOHE management team participated in both meetings. Dr. David Julien, Executive Secretary General, participated virtually and in person: Leticia Jiménez, Academic Director, Fernando Daniels, Director of Planning and Development and Claudia Nunez del Arco, Head of Institutional Relations.
